Former Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian believes Caoimhin Kelleher is a definite target for the Reds.

Adrian, who has now left Liverpool to return to his homeland with Real Betis, told The Athletic: “I have a good relationship with Caoimhin Kelleher. We talk a lot and Jürgen Klopp sees he is ready.”

“I’m there to support him. He showed last season that he can be Liverpool’s number one goalkeeper, but it’s also clear that when Alisson is ready he will start almost every game. But Caoimhin is at an age where he needs to play every weekend to be successful in his career.”

“He also wants to be the No 1 for Ireland, which will happen if he plays regularly. I know he needs more time to prove himself. I hope he makes the right decision for his future.”

The 25-year-old has been linked with Glasgow Celtic and Brentford in recent times , ufabet http://ufabet999.app but it now appears he will remain at Liverpool.

Caoimhin Kelleher

Caoimhin Kelleher is a goalkeeper who has built a reputation as a penalty-shootout specialist since joining Liverpool FC in the summer of 2015.

The Republic of Ireland international switched to the Reds from Ringmahon Rangers and progressed through the ranks at the Academy up to senior-team duties, where he has won four shootouts – the most of any ‘keeper in the club’s history.

The most memorable of those successes came in the 2022 Carabao Cup final, where he made a string of vital saves and then scored Liverpool’s decisive penalty in an 11-10 shootout victory over Chelsea at Wembley.

He made eight appearances overall in 2021-22 and also collected an FA Cup winner’s medal.
